Rescue Engine 40 on first due building fire

While on the air this morning Rescue Engine 40 called into PSC (Public Safety Communications) on Channel 1 that they were on the scene of a working building fire in the 40-12 box located at 6000 Accokeek Road. Rescue Engine 40 advised they had a auto well off inside a garage with extension into the building. The remainder of the box was filled out bringing Engine Companies 24 (Accokeek), 3 (Waldorf), 36 (Baden), Truck 25 (Clinton), Truck 32 (Allentown Road), Rescue Squad 47 (Allentown Road/Silesia) and Battalion Chief 7. Paramedic Ambulance 40 responded with two additional personnel from the station. Battalion Chief 7 arrived on the scene and established the Accokeek Road command. The working fire dispatch was then alerted bringing Charles Ambulance 3 (Waldorf), Medic 25, EMS Duty Officer and the Northern Safety Officer. Command advised fire knocked down at 1115hrs, and holding Rescue Engine 40, Paramedic Ambulance 40, Engine 241 and Truck 25.
